Daffodil Dreams is a watercolor painting with a dreamlike quality to it since it is painted on Yupo paper which does not allow the paint to sink into the paper, but rather remains and then dries on the top surface. This allows the artist to tip the wet paint at various angles to let the paint flow and blend together in a free form way with unexpected and often beautiful results. After this initial stage of the painting dries, the artist can then go in and establish details and draw into the dried paint. Daffodil Dreams was fun to work on, and I immediately loved what I was getting and immediately saw what I could make of it after the paint dried.
It has now been thoroughly sprayed with an archival fixative and is ready to be framed.
